Abstract

Power Factor Correction (PFC) at the front end is proposed using a Modified topology of the SEPIC converter for Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive. The single phase ac-dc SEPIC PFC converter is taken for minimizing the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)of the input current and have an improved power factor at front end. The proposed front end PFC operation undergoes Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM), it acts like a voltage follower. The motor speed is able to be controlled over a large range by managing the output DC voltage obtained across SEPIC converter. The proposed SEPIC PFC converter is modeled for obtaining the best power quality system and having a less amount of THD for the supply current. Two SEPIC converters are present in this proposed circuit configuration and its operation takes place at each half cycles of the input voltage. The concentration of this paper is to examine modified CUK PFC converter with proposed modified SEPIC PFC converter and the analysis shows that the SEPIC converter is the best with respect to, power factor, THD and cost. The performance analysis is demonstrated and verified using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
利用MATLAB/SIMULINK对性能分析进行了演示和验证。
