Political parties of the radical direction in Ukraine: is this strengthening of the national security or threats? (On the example of AUU “Svoboda”)

Abstract

The relevance of political parties of radical direction in Ukraine has been considered. The main stages of party evolution and indicators of radicalism at each stage have been traced on the example of AUU “Svoboda”. The level of support for the radical agenda by the citizens of Ukraine has been revealed on the basis of the results of voting in the parliamentary elections. Reasons for the high level of support during the 2012 parliamentary elections and factors for the gradual decline in support have been analyzed. The main forms of radical actions and statements and their impact on the population of the country, the agenda of the political process and national security have been assessed.
