Abstract

This article entails a short study of the lives of seven Franciscan Friars, who were executed, but also the trial of their martyrdom and gains introduction and understanding into the theological aspects of their martyrdom. Within the analysis of their lives we gain an insight into the Hungarian Franciscans most meaningful interrelationship during the twentieth century of the persecution of the Christian Church and the ideological aspects that were driving the trials and the permeation of the news of their martyrdom, which had already begun during the Communist dictatorship. This analysis provides an insight not only into the sources and the specialized literature, but also analyzes and discusses the results and provides a perspective on the memories of the eyewitnesses of the era. Összegzés: A tanulmány az 1944-1954 közötti időszakban kivégzett hét ferences szerzetes élettörténetének rövid foglalatát, vértanúságuknak tárgyalását és történetteológiai értelmezését mutatja be. Ennek elemzése során betekintést nyerünk a magyar ferencesek 20. századi jelenlétének fontosabb vonatkozásaiba, az egyházüldözés ideológiai hátterének tárgyalásába és a vértanúság hírének elterjedésébe, amely már a kommunista diktatúra idején megkezdődött. Az elemzés nemcsak a történeti források és a szakirodalom eredményeit tárgyalja, hanem összegzi a szemtanúk által közölt emlékezések információit is.
