Abstract
This paper presents microstrip patch antenna design which is of array type and uses corporate feeding technique. The operating frequency of antenna is in the C-band and operates at a centre frequency of 4.3 GHz. The feedlines are used to interconnect each of the four patches which form an array. This antenna is usually used in Radar Altimeters as a replacement for horn antennas being commonly used these days. This is a rectangular patch array and is simulated using an electromagnetic simulator. The substrate used in this patch array is RT-Duroid 5880. This antenna provides a good solution as far as requirements of less weight, low cost, less size as well as high gain are concerned. The design and method of analysis of this antenna array is completely explained in this paper.
