Abstract

Training a large number of qualified software engineers is a great challenge for universities, and curriculum design is an important issue. Based on IEEE-CS/ACM SE2004, Nanjing University in China designs the software engineering undergraduate curriculum NJU-SEC2006. There are three main concerns about the curriculum design. Firstly, the knowledge delivering sequence is designed to match the different scales (small/medium/large) software development. Secondly, the knowledge of professional practices is integrated into courses throughout the whole undergraduate program. Thirdly, traditional computer science courses are reformed according to the situation of China.
