Unusual presentation of pyopneumothorax in a known case of pulmonary tuberculosis on treatment

Abstract

Pneumothorax, empyema, and pyopneumothorax are rare complications of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) associated with mortality and morbidity and difficult management. The case report throws light into the difficult management of the associated rare complications of PTB. Pyopneumothorax was drained with intercostal drain and anti-TB therapy was reintroduced.
