Abstract

A plastic scintillator is used as radiation detector and Silicon Photo Multiplier (SiPM) senses the scintillated photons during the radiation interaction. The paper describes overall system design of the proposed Radiation Detector and details more about the performance evaluation of high frequency response front-end amplifier prototype. The fast response amplifier is designed using bipolar junction transistor in common base configuration. The amplifier prototype is tested for various parameters such as gain, bandwidth, rise time and the evaluation results are discussed here.
