Abstract

The way of heat regeneration in the cycle of internal combustion engine (ICE) is suggested. An expression for thermal coefficient of performance (COP) is derived which considers the differences in polytropic coefficient of expansion and compression processes, the level of heat regeneration as well as different compression and expansion ratios in compression and expansion cylinders.
