Abstract

Structural models based on the same material of the cable are usually used to conduct tests when studying the problems related to partial discharge of the cable body and accessories. However, it is difficult for such test models to reflect the characteristics of partial discharge signal transmission inside the cable. As an alternative to the traditional cable intermediate joint, the melt joint has almost the same electrical performance as the original cable, which can effectively solve the problem of the movable interface of the traditional joint.
