Abstract
The process of input and output is an indispensable part of second language acquisition. The reason is that learners need to master relevant linguistic knowledge, such as vocabulary, collocation, grammar rules and pronunciation skills, so as to make comprehensible output in the class and the real world. To be specifically, although input and output are both of vital importance in the process of second language acquisition, input is a prerequisite for output and its role cannot be underestimated. This paper aims to illustrate the positive and negative effects of input and output in speaking and writing classes. In addition, this paper will also provide some in-depth teaching inspiration, so that teachers can be targeted on choosing appropriate teaching methods in their teaching process, to help students absorb knowledge and express their ideas effectively.
