Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori cultural pluralism : mosaic analogy oleh Berkson. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dalam parktik multikuturalisme antara masyarakat sekitar asrama Papua dan mahasiswa Papua ditunjukkan dengan Mahasiswa Papua dan masyarakat berkebutuhan hidup secara damai. Mereka saling bertegur sapa, namun karena perbedaan budaya, maka membatasi diri untuk saling berinteraksi menjadi pilihan di antara keduanya. Masyarakat lebih proaktif dalam mengajak berkomunikasi, tetapi mahasiswa Papua lebih menutup diri. Mahasiswa Papua mengekspresikan kepeduliannya terhadap masyarakat dengan cara tidak meminta bantuan masyarakat saat menghadapi masalah, karena mereka tidak ingin merepotkan masyarakat. Harmonisasi social yang semestinya tampak sebagai kehidupan bersama yang indah, belum tampak karena sebenarnya masih terdapat jarak antara satu dengan yang lain. Mosaik Budaya belum terbangun antara mahasiswa Papua dan masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Praktik, Multikuturalisme, Harmonisasi Sosial. This study aims to describe the practice of multiculturalism of the people of Surabaya and Papuan students. The theory used in this research is the theory of cultural pluralism: mosaic analogy by Berkson. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The data collection technique used is interview. The results of the study show that in the practice of multiculturalism between the community around the Papuan dormitory and Papuan students, it is shown by Papuan students and the community in need of living in peace. They greet each other, but because of cultural differences, limiting themselves to interact with each other is a choice between the two. The community is more proactive in inviting them to communicate, but Papuan students are more introverted. Papuan students express their concern for the community by not asking for help from the community when facing problems, because they do not want to inconvenience the community. Social harmonization, which should appear as a beautiful life together, has not been seen because in fact there is still a distance between one another. The Cultural Mosaic has not yet been established between Papuan students and the community. Abstract
