The proposed test system has been designed and simulated using MATLAB Simulink. Abstract

Microgrid is a scaled down edition of power grid which aids in the management of energy in mini utilities is an efficient and powerful solution. The management of energy in a microgrid is very essential for maintaining the load supply reliability. This paper presents the hardware prototype of a smart microgrid system with PV generation unit, battery and load for enhanced storage management. The main objective of the paper is to introduce pseudo-state-of-charge concept in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of microgrid for enhanced performance of the system.
