Abstract

This paper deals with an analysis of the air gap size effect on the other parameters of high speed Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) as average static torque, torque ripple, winding losses, iron losses, mechanical losses, output power and efficiency. At the beginning, there is introduction about state of the art of high-speed machines. The following section presents the state of the motor design before this analysis. Numerical and analytical models and design procedures are used. Subsequently, these procedures are presented. Finally, the obtained results are presented and commented.
