The IFR (Ideal Final Result) of the product is obtained by the evolution patterns of TRIZ. The function structure of the packaging machine for dropping pill is established. The model of substance-field is used to identify the design problem and the design conflicts are confirmed by use of conflict determining diagram. Contradiction matrix and 40 inventive principles in TRIZ are used to solve the conflicts. Abstract
