Abstract

Single and dual band-notched antennas are designed applying U-shaped resonators to circular-slot UWB antennas, in order to attenuate interfering signals between 5 and 6 GHz. Simulations and measurements are carried out, which confirm the band-notch behaviour. In the case of the single notch, up to 10 dB gain reduction is achieved, with no significant impact on the antenna properties outside the notched band. For the dual band-notch antennas, results show the suitability of this topology for tunable designs.
