Significant Variables for Digitalization and Financial Business Outcome: Impact of Climate, COVID; Profile of Firm, Innovation and Digitalization, Investment Activity and Other Company Variables in Western Europe

Abstract

Digitalization is becoming increasingly important for the success of companies. Therefore, it is important to understand which skills and characteristics digitally and at the same time financially successful companies have. For this purpose, many variables are analyzed using correlation analysis. The data for the analysis comes from the European Investment Bank Survey. This analysis shows that digitally and financially successful companies have strong planning and leadership capabilities. Digitization is lived as a success-critical activity. Companies that are very active in implementing digital products very often launch their own products and services around the world. Such companies invest in asset types such as land, other businesses, buildings and infrastructure and they have a high investment intensity (total investment/number of employees).
