Abstract

The purpose of this article is to throw light on various factors that can cause peri-implant bone loss and range of solutions that can prevent the postoperative stigma of marginal bone loss. In this article main focus is given on the four specific implant designs which have proven to be successful in maintaining the peri-implant bone level that includes Laser-Lok implant collar, platform switching at implant abutment junction, conical implant abutment interface and microthreading on implant neck.
