Abstract
An SIW based antenna is introduced in this paper for 5G Applications. The proposed antenna consists of a circular slot and circular patch printed on the top of a single layer substrate. The proposed antenna structure is fed by a 50 Ω microstrip transmission line. An FR-4 as substrate material with a dielectric constant of 4.3 and height of 0.635 mm. Simulation results showed that the antenna resonates at 30.74 GHz and a bandwidth of 1.176 GHz. The return loss is equal to -48.1 dB with a gain of 5.88 dBi. Overall dimensions are 20×15 mm. The antenna has been designed and simulated using the full wave simulator MWS CST.
