Abstract

This paper presents the effectiveness of stepped-FM UWB home security sensor. UWB sensor has attracted considerable attention it can be expected to detect human body in a home, not room. Then a few schemes had been suggested to detect an intruder in home or room. However, it is important to detect an intruder prior to breaking in the house. This paper suggests a UWB sensor which can detect not only intruder, but also stranger intruding into a house. It can also estimate the intrusion port (window). The measurements were conducted under five scenarios using our fabricated sensor system installed inside a typical four-room apartment house.
