XBee distance measurement through the log normal shadowing model

Abstract

This paper presents a full approach to outcomes due to the measurement of distance between two points in space, taking as reference XBee signal's (radio waves) attenuation as they travel from point A to B. XBee modules are able to communicate with each other, creating networks which consist of a coordinator, routers and end devices; allowing information flow across the network members. As bits voyage, attenuation is readable, which opens a door to the possibility of creating a positioning system.
