Abstract
In this study, the authors analyze the modified tone reservation (TR) and clipping-and-filtering methods to reduce Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals and introduce the hybrid algorithm of these modified methods. The key purposes of the proposed algorithm are to increase PAPR reduction again, meet the spectral mask constraints, guarantee a low error rate and simplify the hardware architecture. The experimental results on Matlab of the proposed algorithm for 64-quadrature amplitude modulation (64-QAM) symbol are presented. These results show that the PAPR of OFDM signals is significantly reduced (about 7.12 dB) after four iterations. Performance comparison of the proposed method with some typical methods of PAPR reduction, such as clipping-and-filtering and TR techniques, is presented.
