Enhancing the Smart, Digitized Food Supply Chain through Self-Learning and Self-Adaptive Systems

Abstract

This work presents a concept to reduce food waste and improve food safety using adaptive systems in the food supply chain. These include smart sensors to adaptively monitor the food's condition and machine learning frameworks to predict the food's quality and shelf life. The build of a prototype is planned to evaluate the system.
