Abstract

This paper presents the development of a control strategy used to control high power direct-drive wind turbines. A new supervision scheme is proposed for optimal integration of wind energy systems to the grid. For the generator-side converter, control algorithm is developed based on the Field Oriented Control (FOC). Concerning the grid-side converter, Vector Current Control (VCC) was proposed.
