Abstract
: A 40-year-old woman visited our hospital with a taste disorder. Based on low serum zinc, we diagnosed zinc deficiency taste disorder. Dosing of zinc acetate, which has a high zinc content, was initiated and the subjective symptoms improved immediately. However, the patient complained of digestive symptoms as adverse effects, so zinc replacement therapy was continued by changing to polaprezinc. Following the switch to continuous use of two types of zinc preparations as zinc replacement therapy, the taste disorder and hypozincemia were improved.
