Temperature dependences of Mandelstam - Brillouin backscatter spectrum in optical fibers of various types

Abstract

Results of experimental researches of the temperature influence on the Mandelstam - Brillouin backscattering spectrum characteristics of the single-mode optical fibers of different types obtained by Brillouin optical time-domain reflectometer “Ando AQ 8603” are presented in this work. The reflectogrames for various types of optical fibers (G.652, G.653, G.655, G.657, “Panda”, erbium-doped fiber) are shown. The temperature dependences of the Brillouin frequency shift and the strain characteristics are presented.
