Príncipe de Maquiavel: uma sátira em defesa da Liberdade

Abstract

Resumo: O presente artigo apresenta uma análise sobre o principal objetivo de Maquiavel ao redigir sua mais polêmica e principal obra: O Príncipe. Para tal análise analisaremos o contexto histórico-cultural da Itália e mais especificamente o ambiente de Florença no século XVI, cidade e época do nosso filósofo. Pretendo apontar evidências que influenciaram o pensamento de Maquiavel, seu interesse pessoal e os objetivos da obra O Príncipe, tendo como principal alvo de discussão a possibilidade de que ao escrever conselhos para o governante da época, o Lourenço de Médici (posteriormente nomeado Duque de Urbino em 1516), o filósofo não redigiu ensinamentos exclusivos para ele, mas também aos povos, que pela seu método de escrita realista deixou evidentes conteúdos e exemplos de como funciona a política de fato. Em outras palavras, entregou fatos de como realmente agem os governantes e deixou sua teoria maquiaveliana como uma sátira contra a tirania e em defesa da liberdade. Modernidade.   Abstract: This article presents an analysis of Machiavelli's main objective in writing his most controversial and main work: The Prince. For this analysis, we will analyze the historical-cultural context of Italy and more specifically the environment of Florence in the 16th century, the city and time of our philosopher. I intend to point out evidences that reflect Machiavelli's thought, his personal interest and the objectives of the work O Principe, having as main subject of discussion the possibility that when writing advice for the ruler of the time, Lourenço de Médici (revised Duque de Urbino in 1516), the philosopher did not write exclusive teachings for him, but also for the peoples, who by his method of realistic writing contains evident and examples of how politics actually works. In other words, the words delivered facts of how the rulers really act and left their Machiavelli theory as a satire against tyranny and in defense of freedom. Keywords: Political philosophy.
