Abstract

Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) technology is a well-recognized technique and an emerging technology, which achieves electric power transfer over a certain distance without any physical connection. In this paper a circular inductive coupled coils are designed using FEM simulation and the mutual inductance is investigated between the coupled coils with different misalignments such as planar, angular and planar & angular misalignment. The computed mutual inductance using FEM simulation is carried out to perform the MATLAB/Simulink simulation of series-series (SS) resonant inductive power transfer system. The obtained simulated results can be used in the implementation of IPT system for electric vehicle battery charging application.
