Abstract

Shifting deliveries from trucks to cargo bikes is a strategic target in several Sustainable Urban Logistic Plans (SULP). Modal shift on the last mile can be justified by reclaiming urban space for pedestrians and bikes and to improve the amenity of using urban spaces. Complementary private car parking needs to be substantially reduced. Recipient-based delivery strategies can contribute to consolidate deliveries in the inner city and provide modal shift to cargo bikes.
