Abstract
The article describes the aesthetic strategies used to give a sensitive form to history and memory in Chilean historical documentaries made in the period 1970-2020. For this purpose, we have selected and analyzed a corpus of 32 documentaries from that country. Within this corpus we have been interested in investigating two fundamental aspects. First, what are the main formal strategies from which narratives about the national past (in particular the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, 1973-1990) have been constructed. Second, how these forms are articulated with the discursive regimes of history and memory.
