Total process waste elimination-a Rayovac case history

Abstract

In order to best comply with the multiple requirements of clean air, clean water, and waste minimization, Rayovac's smallest plant has completely reengineered its anode chemical process. Solutions were needed where many other attempts had failed. One solution was found to all of the problems: eliminating the wastewater entirely and recycling the metal content internally. The project paid for itself in six months time.<>
