A general architecture of Wireless Overlay Networks (WONs) for global mobility

Abstract

This paper proposes a tiered architecture for wireless overlay networks supporting global mobility across multiple heterogeneous networks with the help of a Layer Manager. It uses Mobile IP for interlayer connectivity to handle true heterogeneity and seamless mobility.
