Abstract

This study aims to describe the democratic leadership style, individual characteristics, work motivation and employee performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office in Muaro Jambi Regency and to analyze the influence of democratic leadership style and individual characteristics on employee performance through work motivation as mediation at the Population and Registration Office. While employee performance shows in the good category. The results of PLS show that Democratic Leadership Style has a positive and significant effect on motivation, Individual Characteristics has a significant and positive effect on work motivation, Democratic Leadership Style has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, Individual Characteristics has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, work motivation has a positive effect and significant on employee performance, democratic leadership style has a significant and positive effect on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable and individual characteristics have a significant and positive effect on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable in the Department of Population and Civil Registration in Muaro Jambi Regency.
