Abstract

Although the efforts have been made by Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) toward enhancing privacy preserving competences, but it does not remove the probability of user privacy attacks and it is still susceptible to user privacy attacks by following the paging identifiers and correlating with permanent identity. The aim of this paper is preserving privacy of paging procedure in 5thGeneration and previous generations by proposing solution based on Identity-Division Multiplexing (IDM) with frequently varying unrelated Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identifiers (TMSI) used for user identification in paging producer, which enhancements the user privacy and defends the attacks of hacker.
