Abstract

The rapid advancement of computer technology motivates software developers to use commercial off-the-shelf software components for system growth. For particular architectural elements (for instance, components), the reliability criteria associated with testing-based conventional procedures are unknown. In the traditional reliability estimation, the probabilistic method is applied. The source data problem, which depends on a number of factors that may or may not correspond to the real working conditions of the system, is this technique's major shortcoming.
