Abstract

As with printed books, Lewis Evans’s founding collection of manuscript treatises on dialling and related themes formed the core around which a collection of manuscripts and archives has developed over the years. The collection embraces a great variety of source material in the history of science, with scientific instruments, practical mathematics, chemistry, astronomy, microscopy, and Oxford science as particular strengths.
