This article is intended aims at identifying and clarifying the factors that caused the exit of students and who dropped the course before beginning, during the period 1999 to 2008. Thus, we sought to know the reasons why freshmen students of the FEB/UNESP by official examination not stay the course. It can be said that the results were satisfactory and showed what is possible through the use procedures simple to find out some possible reasons thar lead students dropout. In this moment further suggestions and procedures are being incorporated in theme. Abstract

For many years the four engineering courses at the Faculty of Engineering at Bauru/FEB/Unesp receive a small amount of students entrance by examination in their respective courses, at first call.
