Abstract

In this paper, a new technique to reduce the size of the patch antenna is proposed. The structure consists of microstrip patch antenna surrounded by circular split ring resonator metamaterial. Comparative study of square and circular split ring metamaterial around the patch is presented. The antennas are designed using ANSYSS HFSS tool and are suitable for application in C-band.
