THE ROLE OF VILLAGE-OWNED ENTERPRISES (BUMDes) SUMBER SEJAHTERA PUJON KIDUL MALANG REGENCY IN IMPROVING COMMUNITY WELFARE

Abstract

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) is a business units managed by the community and village government for village welfare. This study aims to explore information related to the role of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) in the welfare of the people of Pujon Kidul Village, Malang Regency, East Java Province. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method using resource-based view theory and partnership theory. The results of this study indicate that BUMDes has succeeded in making significant changes to the economy of rural communities, such as reducing unemployment and increasing community income which has implications for reducing poverty in the village. The success of the BUMDes is inseparable from the resource factors owned by Pujon Kidul Village and the good partnership relationship between the village government, the community, and the private sector.
