Abstract
This paper presents a method of power transfer between electric vehicles (EV) and grid at a common charging point or aggregator. This technique involves using the vehicle on-board converter for bidirectional power transfer. EV range is one of the common problems in research right now. This is due to the limited battery capacity and viable charger size. Installing a dense charging network provides a solution to this problem. The charging networks can be configured to trade power between the EV(s) and grid, this being called the vehicle to grid (V2G) technique. This trade of energy between EVs is assisted by the charger network or aggregator which balances the amount of charge drawn from the source vehicles, for charging a receiver vehicle, this is called as vehicle to vehicle (V2V) charging. A simulation of this model is done in Simulink/MA TLAB to test the operation and performance of this method.
