Abstract

Abstract:A diverse urban elementary school adopted the Crucial Cs as the foundation for its social-emotional learning program. We include examples of how the Crucial Cs have been integrated into core courses and specialists' curriculums, the school counseling program, and schoolwide initiatives to create school culture and character development. Preliminary and anecdotal evidence suggests that implementation of the Crucial Cs within the various areas of students' school experiences has a positive impact on relationships, behavior, and academic gains.
