Abstract

This paper describes a miniature transceiver which consists of three main sections: 1) a receiver portion with three active mixers, thick film limiter, and modem; 2) a transmitter portion with three active upconverters and a gated power amplifier; and 3) a local oscillator section containing a temperature compensated crystal oscillator which is shared by both transmitter and receiver.
