Broker: a system integration approach

Abstract

Structural and organizational changes within the Department of Defense are driving a need for widespread integration of existing information systems. This paper presents an approach to the integration of Air Force systems based on the concept of 'brokering' data between existing systems. This approach achieves many of the benefits of a single database solution while, at the same time, building on experience gained in developing integration solutions based on multiple interfaces.<>
