Object-oriented programming for power engineering education

Abstract

The authors describe the object-oriented approach, which is currently being touted as a means of making programmers more productive but will require new approaches to viewing old problems. They discuss how object-oriented programming techniques can be applied to the development of power-engineering-related software. Segments of code that were used in a three-phase load flow program are used as examples.
