The short circuited CPW in ground is of non-uniform nature and impedances of its individual sections are varied accordingly to place the resonant modes within the UWB spectrum. The optimal design of microstrip lines on the top enhance its coupling with CPW and generates the UWB passband with good return/insertion loss and extended stopband.
