Abstract

The article addresses the problem of translating culture-bound words from Russian into English. Two culture-bound words дача and зачет are examined with the help of four parallel corpora (National Russian Corpus, Lingvo Live, Reverso Context, and Linguee). The author analyses the quality and quantity of examples in the corpora and compares the corpus tools.
