Abstract
When integrating sustainable development practices with an organization's strategies, internal resources are essential. In this context, using the resource-based view (RBV) as a backdrop, this article aims to analyze the relationship between strategic resources and sustainable development, based on the analysis of business processes, which is still little explored to date. For this, this study conducted nine case studies in Brazilian companies, suppliers of a large electricity distributor in Brazil. The research identified five strategic resources from the literature that can contribute to sustainable development: (1) trained employees; (2) leadership involved; (3) financial management; (4) environmental management; and (5) social management. From the identification of these resources, it was observed a weak, medium and strong use by the companies under study. Thus, by identifying these resources clearly, associations can bring strategic advantages, while contributing to sustainable development.
