The task of channel estimation and equalization is addressed in context of ISS-OFDM for the first time. The introduction of an efficient ISS-OFDM channel estimator will make ISS-OFDM a spread spectrum technique which is robust to fading. The influence of multipath propagation is studied analytically in this paper and a novel ISS-OFDM channel estimation and equalization method is described. Abstract

This paper focuses on channel estimation and equalization for systems with Interleaved Spread Spectrum OFDM (ISS-OFDM) modulation. ISS-OFDM is a relatively new spread spectrum technique which inherits many properties of conventional OFDM. The task of channel estimation and equalization is addressed in context of ISS-OFDM for the first time. The introduction of an efficient ISS-OFDM channel estimator will make ISS-OFDM a spread spectrum technique which is robust to fading.
