Abstract

Image quality in chest radiography has to be high enough that even subtle pulmonary abnormalities can be easily visualised. Conventional screen/film radiographs obtained with 200 to 400 speed systems fulfil this requirement well enough. Large screen and slit beam image intensifier systems that have replaced fluoroscopy screens, yield equivalently good results.
