Abstract
The basic principles for the development of compositions and structures of nanostructured coatings for cutting tools are described. It is shown that atomic and electronic characteristics can be a criterion for searching for potentially promising materials with high transition temperatures to the superconducting state, and consequently, for wear-resistant high-strength nanostructured coatings.
