Abstract

An indirect beamforming technique implemented on a metal plate with randomly distributed circular slots is investigated at millimeter-wave in this work. The goal seeks to develop a succinct array system with a high directivity and a low sidelobe level (SLL), as well as beam scan characteristics. The indirect beamforming technique steers the array main beam by changing the angles of the incident waves. Simulations are implemented, and the results are explained to verify the validity of the array design.
